Apple and its main supplier Foxconn are now producing the iPhone 13 in India, the company confirmed to ReutersIndicates a continued push to diversify its product supply chain outside of China.

India has become home to the production of many Apple products. Last year, the company started production of the iPhone 12 in the country and according to ReutersApple plans to start iPad production locally.

Apple has taken advantage of several government schemes aimed at promoting local production of products, cutting costs and providing employment opportunities. Apple first started production in India in 2017 with the iPhone SE Reuters,

In 2020, Apple launched its online store in India, providing customers with a direct way to buy products directly from the company without having to go through a reseller. Apple promised that its first retail store would open in India by the end of 2021, although now that that deadline has passed, it remains to be seen how soon the Apple Store opens in the country.
